Type Locality and Naming

Along the village of Sarykamysh, Southwest Gissar. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.42). Stratotype on the left bank of the Akkaptchigay gorge, to the S.-E. of the village of Sarykamysh.

Synonym: Sarykamysh Suite, Сарыкамышская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Siltstone (aleurolites), clays, gray, greenish-gray sandstones with layers of limestones and shell rocks. Thickness 84-150m.

Lower contact

Conformably overlies the Kattakamysh Fm or Kuruk Fm (and Akbulak-Cret Fm)
